The 911 Recovery Charge is a company fee, not a government-mandated fee.

All customer accounts are charged this fee.

This fee is for providing 911 service, as required by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and other countries’ regulatory authorities, including costs for supporting computer software and hardware upgrades that allow public safety answering points (PSAP) to send assistance to the registered location of a 911 caller.
